The Equator Plus provides access from the central retina to the middle peripheral retina for the diagnosis and treatment of retinal defects such as tears, holes and detachments. This lens is designed to provide high-resolution mid-field vision, even through small pupils, for PRP laser treatments. This application is essential when assessing and treating patients such as those at risk of angle closure, iris neovascularization, etc. in whom dilation must be avoided. The possibility of using a small pupil is also advantageous for the treatment of geriatric populations in whom the pupil's response to dilation is limited. The compact size of the lens body allows easy handling with the eye socket, and provides sufficient space between the laser and the patient's eye.
